BitSim lancerer ARM-baseret Qt-platform

Det svenske konsulent og udviklingshus lancerer Qt hardware framework til udvikling, prototyping og implementering af embedded softwareapplikationer (in english).

BitSim AB is a leading consultant and design house in Sweden focusing on  electronic design and embedded SW for Board and Chip development. The company has just developed an ARM based system running Linux and Qt.

The system hosts a range of interfaces, including: radio communication, USB, ethernet, Compact Flash-card, 2D graphics display accelerator and a generic FPGA interface. The hardware serves as a base for future  projects, and a good starting point for prototyping and technology evaluation.

The inclusion of an FPGA on the board enables high performance data processing. It also makes it possible to add new interfaces to the  system without having to do major changes to the interfaces surrounding  the ARM CPU.

The Linux based software environment makes it possible to develop both drivers and user applications in a quick and efficient manner. The open  source nature of the platform gives full transparency, making debugging,  enhanching and customizing easy.

The Qt framework, available from Nokia Qt Software, allows developers to quickly prototype, develop and deploy embedded software projects. Qt  makes it easy to develop advanced applications with modern user  interfaces. BitSim's activities surrounding Qt also involves developing applications, Qt seminars, training as well as advanced Qt solutions  such as specialized display drivers.

BitSim AB has one of Sweden's largest independent electronics development  groups in six offices. Some key areas are System-on-Chip/ASIC/FPGA, Embedded Linux, Digital
Signal Processing, Video/Graphics, and High-Speed Design.
