32-bit MCU'er understøtter Ethernet og MOST
Renesas lancerer seks nye fjerdegenerations, 32-bit microcontrollere, der understøtter opkobling til Ethernet og MOST netværk (in english).
Renesas Electronics has announced the availability of six new 4th-generation (X4 generation) V850-based S-series microcontrollers (MCUs), ideally suited to car infotainment systems and networking.
The new products include two MCUs from the V850E2/SG4-H group with 100 pins, two MCUs from the V850E2/SJ4-H group with 144 pins and two MCUs from the V850E2/SK4-H group with 176 pins.
The evolution in car infotainment systems and networking within the car requires the introduction of protocols such as Ethernet and MOST (Media Oriented System Transport) to support high bandwidths and reliable data transfer. This is in addition to the well-established automotive networks such as CAN and IEBus (Inter Equipment Bus) also supported by Renesas Electronics’ V850E2/Sx4-H family of MCUs.
Among the key features of the V850E2/Sx4-H MCUs is:
Enhanced networking functionality:
By adding an Ethernet PHY and MOST network interface controller to the V850/E2/Sx4-H MCUs, additional networking functionality is now possible. The new MCUs also support the routing of system data, such as from the diagnostic Ethernet channel to the MOST bus, as well as the routing of audio streams to and from MOST via up to eight I2S bus interfaces.
High performance for networking and system control in parallel:
The V850E2/Sx4-H MCUs incorporate the 32-bit V850E2M CPU core, which has an excellent performance ratio of 2.5 DMIPS/MHz, and is capable of covering a performance range of up to 160 MHz (at 400MIPS). This enables the devices to perform networking tasks in parallel to all system control tasks.
Wide-range lineup for several applications:
The integrated Flash memory ranges from 2 megabytes (MB) down to 1MB, while the fast SRAM scales from 192 kilobytes (KB) down to 96KB. Further, the wide lineup of QFP packages from 100- to 176-pin, together with the flexible pin assignment and application-oriented peripheral selection, allow customers to choose the most cost-effective solution for their applications.
Rich development environment:
The lineup of Renesas hardware tools, including the IECUBE2 (see Note 1) for the full-specification emulator and the E1 emulator for the on-chip debugging emulator, are available for the V850E2/Sx4-H MCUs. Further, Renesas Electronics’ existing integrated environments, CubeSuite+ and MINICUBE, may also be used with the new MCUs.
About MOST Technology
MOST (Media Oriented Systems Transport) is a multimedia networking technology developed by MOST Corporation. MOST is optimized for use in cars and other applications, and it enables the transport high Quality of Service audio and video together with packet data and real-time control over a single transmission medium at maximum transfer speed of 150 megabits.
MOST can use plastic optical fiber or electrical unshielded or shielded twisted pair wire physical layers that meet automotive environmental requirements. Today, MOST is used in over 100 car models as the communication backbone for their information and entertainment equipment that perfectly meet the rising demand for high-quality playback of music and movies, packet-data communication of information such as traffic information, higher-speed data transfer, and to lighter bodies to improve the fuel economy of cars.
