Sony vælger audio codec fra Dialog Semiconductor

Sony har valgt Dialog's DA7211 audio codec teknologi til bl.a. firmaets serie af digitale recordere (in english).

Dialog Semiconductor plc has announced its DA7211 audio IC has been adopted by Sony. The DA7211 is a lowt power audio codec. The first Sony consumer device to benefit from Dialog's audio technology is the new series of compact digital recorders. Sony has already launched this high end IC recorder product series.

- Validation of our new audio technology through these design wins at Sony, a premier globally recognised consumer brand, represents an important milestone for Dialog, says Udo Kratz, vice president and general manager for audio and power management at Dialog.

- The DA7211 delivers the ultimate mix of high performance audio with ultra low power consumption allowing Sony to extend the battery lifetime and playback time of their new series of IC Recorders. With our first audio products only released in the last 12 months, we are proud of this early success with Sony.

Sony's latest IC recorders incorporate Sony's proprietary and advanced S-Mic recording technology with dual A/D converters included for wider dynamic range and improved signal to noise ratio (SNR).

The DA7211 comes with a simple to use interface and general purpose filter, which enables manufacturers to optimise the output signal for small on board speakers and enclosures, delivering even complex 3D spatial effects. The 3x3mm chip has the lowest quiescent power consumption in its class.
