Z-Wave teknologi overvåger hjemmet
Danske Flex-Control har integreret Z-Wave kommunikationsteknologi i nyt 'house control' monitoreringssystem, der bl.a. vil blive solgt gennem Silvan (in english).
The Danish company Flex-Control A/S has integrated the Z-Wave global wireless standard into its 'House Control' turn-key intelligent monitoring system.
This application offers wireless monitoring and control of all Z-Wave compatible appliances in residential houses, flats or in holiday homes. A central web interface allows home owners to activate and deactivate alarm systems, regulate the heating or check the pool temperature, turn garden lights on or off or dim them, and at the same time actively control their energy consumption.
Flex-Control A/S has many years of experience with online wireless systems for the monitoring and remote management of businesses and holiday complexes (e.g. the Lalandia Billund resort in Denmark).
The company has now also made use of the Z-Wave wireless standard in order to adapt its wireless Home Control System for use in residential properties.
- The Flex-Control and Z-Wave technologies complement each other perfectly and offer house and flat owners boundless possibilities with regard to creating a domestic network that provides the highest levels of comfort and security, says Raoul Wijgergangs, Chairman of the Z-Wave Alliance.
The Flex-Control monitoring system can be installed simply and intuitively via plug-and-play. All communication between the control unit and the various appliances takes place wirelessly. Unsightly and costly wiring, for example between a motion sensor and a control unit, is now a thing of the past. The only cable required is the one connecting the control unit to the broadband connection in the house.
The system is easily configured via the internet. There is absolutely no need to download and install additional, costly programs. The system is controlled using an intuitive control platform or via an online 3D interface based on JavaScript which displays and allows adjustment of the whole residence, together with all the appliances that can be centrally controlled. Hence, Flex-Control users can monitor and control their homes from anywhere in the world via a PC or smart phone.
Starter kits from SILVAN
From the week commencing 7th September, Flex-Control will be offering two different starter kits in cooperation with the Danish DIY chain Silvan. The company is one of the largest retailers in Scandinavia in the DIY market. Klaus Jensen, Product Manager at Silvan, explains:
- The two basic packages are now available in all of the 40 SILVAN stores in Denmark. Customers can purchase online and in-store in a special 'Flex-square' combined with additional wireless equipment recommended by the Danish Electricity Saving Trust. The two kits consist of a security and an energy package. We are currently planning to run the campaign until the beginning of February 2010.
The security package contains a control box, a remote control, a door and window sensor, a motion detector and an alarm siren. It is designed to be easily installed and provide homeowners with peace of mind through a comprehensive and reliable monitoring system for houses, flats and holiday homes.
The energy package contains also the control box as well as two universal plugs, one on-/off-wall switch and a remote control. It is an even more environmentally friendly version and focuses on providing the greatest possible degree of energy conservation for the home. The Flex-Control system can be expanded to include additional devices according to personal needs.
The heart of the smart house consists of a control unit which ensures that all the relevant appliances are connected to the House Control system. House and flat owners can then extend the system as desired. The central control unit can manage a broad range of products and applications in the home providing both robust safety and security solutions as well as energy management.
