The SMT guide covers: solder paste application; component placement; reflow soldering; automated optical inspection (AOI) and X-ray inspection, and maintenance. It also suggests that to enhance the efficiency and quality of an SMT assembly line, Lean Manufacturing principles which focus on reducing waste, minimising setup times, and improving overall workflow, should be considered.
