ams bliver det nye navn på det firma, som samler aktiviteterne fra henholdsvis austriamicrosystems og TAOS (in english).

A new name has appeared in the world of high-performance analog semiconductors and sensor solutions with the announcement today by austriamicrosystems that 'ams' will be its new company brand. The new brand name unites austriamicrosystems and the brand and identity of TAOS (Texas Optoelectronic Solutions, Inc.), a leading global supplier of intelligent light sensors, acquired in 2011.

ams, headquartered in Unterpremstaetten, Austria, is a leading global designer and manufacturer of high performance analog ICs that provides innovative analog solutions to the most challenging applications in sensors and sensor interfaces, power management and wireless. ams’ products are aimed at applications which require high accuracy, wide dynamic range, sensitivity, and immunity to noise or ultra-low power
consumption. 

The company builds on more than 30 years of operation in analog semiconductors and is responsible for numerous breakthroughs in applications such as magnetic encoders, medical imaging, power management, low-power RF, optical sensing, audio amplification, and battery sensing. ams draws on this experience, and on the unique CMOS, High Voltage CMOS and SiGe fabrication processes it has developed, to create new high-performance standard products and ASICs targeting the consumer and communications, industrial, medical, and automotive markets all around the globe.
