FBDi Compass v2.5 kan hjælpe industrien med holde styr på de reviderede krav i bl.a. RoHS II og WEEE2 (in english).
The german 'Professional Association of Component Distribution, FBDi', has published the up-to-date FBDi Compass v2.5, that offers companies along the supply chain unique assistance in dealing with environmental directives. Electrical and electronic products are fully classified according to RoHS II and WEEE2, and CE requirements have been revised accordingly.The revision targets the RoHS II directive, which since January requires manufacturers, importers, and distributors of electrical and electronic products to provide proof that their products are RoHS compliant. Also new: products are subject to CE marking requirements in relation to RoHS.
The required EU declaration of conformity in the form of 'technical documentation' must be provided. Instead of measurements, as up to now, the focus of product reviews by the market surveillance authority is on the quality assurance processes of the manufacturers and, as the case may be, importers. You assume full product responsibility and must perform the conformity assessment independently.
As the first procedural guide on the market addressing the new regulations, the revised FBDi Compass v2.5 offers valuable help. In particular the new RoHS II and WEEE2 regulations were taken into account and supported with new product images. Updates and clearly designed flow charts provide the user guidance in managing the regulations. The FBDi Compass v2.5 is applicable to all products (whether electrical or electronic).
Thanks to its ease of use, individuals, who are not experienced with the new RoHS II and WEEE2 or other EU regulations, can easily understand and fulfill their obligations. Companies need no longer invest in dedicated environmental specialists and can avoid penalties. Version 2.5 will be available in English and German in late September. Companies currently possessing an FBDi Compass will receive version 2.5 at no charge.
Also new on the website is an on-line guide, which leads one through the FBDi Compass by way of an example. The principle is equally applicable for every product. This renders the procedural guide a valuable tool in navigating EU directives for equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and customers across all industries.
