Amerikanske 'Electronic Components Association (ECA)' ser små tegn på stigende optimisme (in english). 

Electronic component orders leveled in May according to the monthly index compiled by the Electronic Components Association (ECA), prompting optimism for better days ahead.  The 12-month average, comparing this year’s results to last year’s, also leveled off a bit.

While it is based on only one month of order reports from electronic component manufacturers, the ECA index reflects signs of hope from market analysts.

Dennis Zogbi, president and owner of The Paumanok Group, recently reported 'pockets of resistance to [the] negative spiral of events', including positive activity in China and other parts of Southeast Asia.  Increased sales are being seen in the wireless sector, as well as in netbook and notebook markets.

Walter Custer, founder and president of Custer Consulting Group, characterizes the current situation as 'less worse, with signs of hope', and reports that there are 'many signs that the worst of this recession is behind us'.

- Everything seems to be pointing at moderate optimism for the electronic components market, says Bob Willis, ECA president. 
- It’s not exactly party time, but any good news is welcome.  Most signs point toward market improvements in the second half  of 2009.
