RTX leverer teknologi til Mexico
RTX Telecom skal levere teknologi til trådløs telefoni og dataservices i fem mexikanske byer (in english).
RTX Telecom A/S and the Mexican tele operator Marcatel today announce that they have entered into co-operation to provide wireless telephony and data services to a cluster of 5 cities in the northern part of Mexico. The implementation of the system will take place over the summer, whereas the commercial operation will commence at the end of 2009.
In parallel with the implementation of this first cluster RTX and Marcatel are looking at extending the co-operation to cover an additional 19 clusters with the target of making the service available in 100 cities within the next three years. The wireless technology provided is a turnkey solution, so moving from 1 to 20 clusters is only a matter of replicating the solution already in place.
To help finance the additional 19 clusters RTX and Marcatel expect that the Danish Export Credit Agency, Eksport Kredit Fonden, will play an important role by making funding available through the Export Lending Scheme and will cover both commercial and political risk. This will make a long term financial solution of the 19 clusters possible.

Marcatel, established in 1996, offers voice-, data-, video- and infrastructure services to business and residential markets through its high capacity fiber optics network, with an approximate length of 2,700 kilometers that extends throughout the Mexican territory.
