MCU integrerer motordrive og systemkontrol

Ny ARM Cortex M3-baseret microcontroller understøtter såvel kontrol af motordrives som overordnede systemkontrol funktioner (in english).

Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) has announced a new ARM Cortex M3 -based microcontroller that enables control of both motor drives and overall systems. The TMPM384FDFG combines large capacity memory with multi-purpose timer channels, AD converters and enhanced I/O ports into a single device.

Motor control applications generally consist of a motor drive unit and a system control unit, both of which integrate a microcontroller and software. TMPM384FDFG enables the use of a single microcontroller and software to perform both functions and will promote more efficient system development and help reduce development and production costs.

TMPM384FDFG comes equipped with 512 Kbyte flash memory and 32 Kbyte SRAM and requires a single 5V power supply, typical for motor control devices and home appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, dishwashers, microwave ovens, water heaters and industrial equipment.

Featuring highly accurate 22-channel 12-bit AD converters, enhanced I/O ports and 4-channel multi-purpose timers, the new TX03 series microcontroller allows both motor and IGBT control.

Housed in an LQFP144 package, the 144 pin IC, measures just 20 mm x 20mm, 0.5 mm pitch. Mass production is scheduled to start in November this year.
