Ny platform til multi-room audio
Frontier Silicon annoncerer den såkaldte Roma platform, der en low-latency multi-room audioløsning (in english).
Frontier Silicon, part of the Toumaz Group (TMZ.L), the leading supplier of ultra-low power wireless technology, unveils Roma, the lowest latency wireless multi-room audio solution.Roma enables a complete range of connected audio products, from portable speakers to hi-fi adaptors, connected via Wi-Fi. The latency (audio delay between speakers) is kept well under 50µs allowing Roma speakers not only to deliver the ultimate multi-room experience, but also achieve wireless stereo performance that is indistinguishable from normal wired speakers. With Bluetooth also supported, Roma offers comprehensive wireless connectivity.
To achieve this breakthrough in audio performance, Frontier has licensed Caskeid wireless connectivity technology from Imagination Technologies, a leading multimedia, processor, communications and cloud technologies company. Roma is the first implementation of this new synchronised multi-room audio streaming technology.
Roma integrates Imagination’s new FlowAudio (cloud-based music and radio service) that provides subscription access to thousands of radio stations, on-demand programmes and podcasts, as well as millions of music tracks. FlowAudio handles streaming from the cloud and can also play the consumer’s own content, from their smart device or local network, working seamlessly with Caskeid technology to provide the world’s most accurately synchronised wireless multi-room streaming.
