Wolfson announcerer ny kosteffektiv HD audio hub med SLIMbus og I2S interfaces til brug i mobile applikationer (in english).
Wolfson Microelectronics has announced the introduction of the WM8997, a highly-flexible High Definition (HD) Audio Hub with simultaneous SLIMbus and I2S interfaces designed to provide outstanding HD Audio for smartphones and other portable devices in a cost-effective solution.The WM8997 high performance HD Audio Hub delivers an outstanding 102dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at 6.5mW DAC to headphone playback power consumption, resulting in clear and crisp voice calls, as well as wonderfully sharp audio recordings and music playback.
Its simultaneous SLIMbus and I2S functionality provides OEMs with platform architecture flexibility enabling standalone audio digital signal processors (DSPs) and ensures that the same audio solution can be re-used across any platform irrespective of the audio interface, saving development costs and time, and delivering an easily-integrated, future-proof solution.
The WM8997 digital core combines fixed-function signal processing blocks, including filters, equalisers, dynamic processors and sample rate converters, with a fully-flexible, all-digital audio mixing and routing engine for outstanding use case flexibility. It also enables the use of voice and gesture control, as well as a digital stylus. The WM8997 supports up to four microphone inputs, each either analogue or pulse density modulation (PDM) digital.
