Farnell’s popular interview series, 'Top Tech Voices' continues in February with a discussion with Toju Duke, recognised worldwide as one of the leading proponents of standardising ethical AI.

Toju Duke is the founder and CEO of Bedrock AI, an AI research, product development, and services company working with the underlying principles of 'Responsible AI'.

Entitled 'The Rise of AI on the Edge with Distributed Intelligence' the wide-ranging discussion will also include observations on responsible AI, STEM, diversity in AI and Duke’s approach to AI during her time with Google.

Farnell President, Rebeca Obregon, explains:

- Toju really takes the lid off AI and provides key messaging about what we should be doing to ensure a responsible and sustainable deployment of AI technologies in our businesses and, increasingly, personal lives. Her insights are particularly acute and have proven to be crucial to influencing AI design and development to appropriately represent people from under-represented groups as well as reduce the potential harms and risks associated with such systems. I am delighted that she has agreed to share her expertise with our audience in this episode.

Toju Duke is a popular speaker, author, thought leader, advisor and entrepreneur with more than 18 years’ experience spanning advertising, retail, not-for-profit and tech. She worked at Google for 10 years, most recently as a programme manager for Responsible AI, leading various Responsible AI programmes across Google’s product and research teams.

Duke also founded and is now CEO of Bedrock AI, an AI product and services company focused on AI research, model and product development. In addition, she founded, Diverse AI, a community interest organisation targeted at people who identify with underrepresented groups and want to up skill, join the field or have a sense of community with like-minded people.

Finally, Toju Duke was the UK lead for 'Women in AI'. a non-profit global organisation with a mission to drive gender diversity in AI. Her book 'Building Responsible AI Algorithms' has been hugely successful and has paved the way for her second book.

Her work has been featured across several national and international media outlets including the BBC, Sky News, El Pais, La Nacion, La Vanguardia, Sifted and others

Hosted by award-winning AI Content and Prompt Engineering Strategist, Georgia Lewis Anderson, among the topics Duke will address, among others in this episode, are:

- AI market trends over the next five years and the most pressing concerns about their development and deployment.

- The resources necessary to engage audiences with AI.

- The most pressing challenges faced by companies interested in implementing AI.

- Identifying what could be the single most transformative AI application of the near future.

-  How AI can usefully contribute to sustainability and a reduction in carbon footprints.

- The most critical legislative and regulatory issues facing AI implementation.

-  How customers are likely to react to – and interact with - AI.

- Toju is an AI tour de force. She is one of those thoughtful and charismatic leaders who have the evidence to support their statements and do so in a way that resonates with truth, says Rebeca Obregon, and she continues:

- We want Top Tech Voices to speak directly to the needs of our audience by showcasing insights from top industry leaders. Ultimately, we aim to provide valuable knowledge that helps customers grow, innovate, and ultimately improve their lives and businesses with the information they need to excel in a rapidly changing world.
