Infineon lancerer nye MCU'er
Infineon udvider såvel 8-bit, 16-bit og 32-bit microcontrollerserierne med nye enheder, der inkluderer flash-teknologi (in english).
Infineon Technologies today announces the availability of its new microcontrollers (MCU) with embedded flash technology, including 8-bit products, a new series of 16-bit MCUs, and members of its TriCore 32-bit device family for industrial applications.
All microcontroller solutions are designed to meet the performance and reliability requirements of a wide range of drive applications across a variety of industries, such as pumps, fans, safe automation systems, transportation systems and white goods.
The new Infineon microcontrollers include the 8-bit XC864 and XC886 HOT, the 16-bit series XE162M, XE164M and XE167M, and the 32-bit TC1167 and TC1197.
Furthermore Infineon has received the VDE certification for the 8-bit familiy XC800 which grants the functional safety requirements for home appliances under EN/IEC60335-1 Class B standard.
Infineon offers free tool chains for its newest 8-bit and 16-bit microcontroller families: The PK51 developments tools from the tool provider Keil are available for the XC800 family, and the Tasking C Compiler from Altium with EDE, simulator and debugger are available for the XE166 family.
New 8-bit MCUs
The new XC864 series expand the XC800 MCU family of Infineon to provide more scalable performance. Designed for cost-sensitive motor control applications, the XC864 series combines in a small footprint TSSOP-20 package a standard 8051 core with on-chip Flash memory of up to 4 kilobytes (KB) and powerful on-chip peripherals. The XC864 series features an internal clock source and embedded voltage regulator, supporting single voltage supply of 3.3V or 5.0V. Its target applications include electric bikes (E-bike), DC fans, stepper motors, and high-intensity discharge (HID) lighting as well as home appliances and power tools.
Infineon expands its product portfolio for demanding environments with ambient temperature up to 140 °C. The new XC886 HOT fulfills all requirements in respect to performance and quality at this high temperature. The MCU comes with 24 KB or 32 KB of Flash memory, 10-bit ADC with high accuracy and fast conversion time of less than 1.5µs, a 16-bit Vector Computer (CORDIC and Multiple Divide Unit MDU) supporting Field Oriented Control (FOC) and a Capture/Compare Unit (CCU6) with two independent 16-bit timers.
New 16-bit MCUs
The XE162M, XE164M and XE167M MCUs are designed for use in a wide range of demanding real time industrial drive applications, such as servo drives, HVAC compressors and blowers, pumps, advanced sensing and power supplies. The XE166M series provides additional advanced safety features for SIL3 applications and 64-pin devices (the XE162M series) with a small footprint.
In addition, the XE166M series offers high CPU performance combined with enhanced IO capabilities, flexible power management and peripherals. The highly configurable serial interface USIC supports multiple protocols, such as Asynchronous and Synchronous Serial Interfaces (ASC, SSC), I2C, LIN and communication to Memory SD-Cards.
The XE166M microcontrollers combine the enhanced C166S-V2 core with an extended set of peripherals and on-chip memory. All three devices in the XE166M series provide embedded Flash; Memory Protection Unit (MPU); error correction code (ECC) for SRAM and Flash and a memory checker to ensure data integrity; a 80 MHz CPU clock; a Multiply and Accumulate (MAC) unit for DSP function; advanced interrupt-handling; fast high-resolution analog to digital conversion (ADC) capabilities; and an on-chip debug system for enhanced development
New 32-bit MCUs
Infineon extends its AUDO Future family of 32-bit microcontrollers with two derivatives, TC1167 and TC1197, designed for use in demanding real time industrial applications, such as multi-axis controllers for up to five 3-phase complementary PWMs. They support multiple modulation strategies such as Space Vector Control or Direct Torque Control and provide multiprocessor support for reliability and safety.
The rich peripheral set includes a flexible timer unit (GPTA) for complex signal generation with digital signal filter functionality; fast multi-channel ADCs; MultiCAN module; ASC, SSC interfaces and a Micro Link Interface (MLI) for multi-controller communication. The flexible GPTA concept enables scalable motor control solutions and an autonomous full coherent high-speed PWM generation to achieve highly efficient drive operations.
Operating at 180MHz, the new high performance TC1197 is equipped with up to 4MB of embedded Flash, a total of 224KB RAM, 48 ADC channels and 2 GPTA units plus one local timer cell unit. This device provides 219 digital general purpose I/O lines and includes a 32-bit External Bus Unit, e.g. for the connection to external memories, FPGAs or ASICs. For harsh environments, such as servo drive applications with high ambient temperatures, Infineon qualified the TC1197 for a temperature range of -40 °C to 125°C.
In the mid-range portfolio, the new TC1167 which operates at 133MHz offers 1MB of Embedded Flash, a total of 128KB RAM, 32 ADC channels and 1 GPTA unit.
