Greenvity, a young innovative supplier of hybrid-system-on-chip (SoC) ICs, and Atlantik Elektronik, electronics distributor and provider of advanced complete solutions, have signed a distribution agreement for the European market.

The newly formed alliance targets to market the latest PLC technology (Power Line Communication) combined with wireless transmission systems.

This cooperation will have synergy effects for the wireless market, too. Specifically, the areas of smart metering, smart home appliances, photovoltaic systems, home gateways, and electric vehicles benefit from perfectly fitting single-chip home area network solutions in combination with other wireless technologies such as ZigBee®.

Greenvity's Hybrii family of chips is based on the global standards HomePlug GreenPHY PLC and ZigBee, which thus allows reliable and efficient networking. The components are AEC-Q100 qualified for use in the automotive sector (electric vehicle / charging stations).

Users do not need to worry about the standard supported by the device. The unit can be installed in any room in the house, without paying attention to the radio reception conditions or the power-line communication with possible phase coupling problems.

The Hybrii chip automatically selects the best media (radio or power line) to transmit energy related data and expands the coverage area so that a complete residential or office building can be covered. If the interferences in the wireless transmission are too high, the PLC communication is activated, so that a reliable communication is always guaranteed.
